Our August is always stacked with too good to miss shows up here, but Friday the 14th its about to hit different level whenMt. Joy rolls through the Rocks after climbing our mini mountain a mile into the sky for this must-see moment of the summer. Ready to fly with us mountaineers? Whether you’re a Red Rocks first-timer snapping pics the second you hit the stairs or you’re a weekly Morrison pilgrim who already knows the drill - we’re so glad to have you here! Mt. Joy formed back in 2016 after meeting and making music back in high school, and went from backyard festival-darlings to one of the most important indie rock bands of their generation. You know the hits: “Silver Lining,” “Julia,” “Lemon Tree,” “Sheep.” Songs that somehow feel nostalgic even thought its barely been ten years, like?? How. And seeing them live? They’re even better — big chaotic dance sessions that are part most and the other half cathartic. Filled with 70s-soaked guitars, and that communal energy that made Mac DeMarco shows legendary and gave Ocean Blue that timeless glow. This tour celebrates their fourth studio album, Hope We Have Fun, which dropped last year and cemented the group as the kings of hard hitting tracks that ALSO feel emotional, expansive, and electric. The album is PACKED with the kind of songs that hit us right in the gut… but we kinda like it not gonna lie. The longing and road-trip bliss all coming together perfectly. It’s like watching a movie about your own life from the best seat in the theater, or getting a nostalgic montage from your favorite life moments. All that to say - we’re excited to see it all live.
