10th Anniversary of their Debut Album A/B

Only at the Red Rocks! As the summer heat takes over Colorado, KALEO is marking a special show at the beloved concert venue, celebrating the 10th anniversary of their debut album “A/B” at the Red Rocks Amphitheater on July 14th. When it all began as they rocked out to “All the Pretty Girls” in 2014 and dropped the full record in 2016, the world soon tuned in to the great Icelandic blues rock band that KALEO had become. Just as the venue’s built for the best concerts in the world, there’s no better place to celebrate this 10-year milestone than the Red Rocks. With special guest Elle King, it’s bound to be a night to remember. 

“ALL THE PRETTY GIRLS” THAT MADE IT POSSIBLE

KALEO’s journey in music all began when elementary school best friends Jökull Júlíusson, David Antonsson, and Daniel Kristjansson began jamming together when they were 17. In 2012, lead guitarist Rubin Pollock joined the gang. Naming their band after the Hawaiian word for “the voice,” they soon became known for music wherein Júlíusson’s soulful voice shines and mesmerizes the crowd. With hard-hitting bangers to their name, they steadily garnered attention through music festivals in Iceland. 

2014 marked the year when “All the Pretty Girls” became viral, amassing millions of streams on Spotify to the band’s surprise. Signing with Atlantic Records and relocating to Austin, Texas in 2015, Kaleo started taking over America. Their South by Southwest (SXSW) debut was met with overwhelming acclaim, and critics took notice — Esquire listed them as one of “40 Bands You Need to Hear,” featured in NPR’s “The Austin 100: SXSW 2015,” and All Songs Considered's “SXSW 2015 Music Preview.”

Before “A/B’ came out in full swing, a couple of promotional singles were released, and “Way Down We Go” became one of the most popular among listeners and critics. Gaining Gold and multi-Platinum certifications in several countries, including Canada, Belgium, the United Kingdom, Ireland, South Africa, Germany, and more, the band marked themselves as one of the hottest rising stars in the rock scene. The album peaked at #16 on the Billboard 200, and Kaleo subsequently kicked off jam-packed tours around the globe.
