Red Rocks Amphitheatre
a recurring holiday tradition where Isakov headlines Red Rocks over Labor Day weekend, and this 2026 will be a "double-header," featuring back-to-back shows on September 6th and 7th.
This year's show features highlights and new symphonic arrangements of songs from his critically acclaimed album, Appaloosa Bones. And it is also the 10th anniversary of his collaborative album, Gregory Alan Isakov with the Colorado Symphony.
Born in Johannesburg, South Africa, Gregory and his family immigrated to Philadelphia at age seven. And when not on tour, he can be found running Starling Farm in Boulder County, Colorado, which specializes in heirloom seeds and a specific variety of Chihuahua blue corn. His song "Big Black Car" was used in a McDonald’s commercial, with the entire fee going to non-profits supporting sustainable farming.
Founded in 1989 as the successor to the Denver Symphony Orchestra, their home is Boettcher Concert Hall, and they perform over 150 concerts a year to over 200,000 people. The 2025–2026 season will be the first full season under the leadership of Peter Oundjian. The orchestra consists of 79 full-time musicians coming from about a dozen different nations.
At an incredible 6,450 feet above sea level and flanked by two 300-foot sandstone monoliths called Ship Rock and Creation Rock, Red Rocks Amphitheatre is the only naturally occurring, acoustically perfect amphitheater in the world.
